You never know what’ll Just Roll into the Shop.

Cops in what appears to be Brazil (PRF likely stands for Polícia Rodoviária Federal , Brazil’s Federal Highway Police) saw suspicious oil pan bolts on a vehicle attempting to cross the border. Upon further inspection, a bundle of six Canik TP9s was discovered inside the engine.

The driver was trying to smuggle the guns across the border. Cops suspected there was something wrong and searched the car for hours until find different bolts on the oil pan....

According to comments in !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! on the always-entertaining !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , the oil pickup tube had been modified to make room for the weapons and the pan was filled with enough oil for the pump to keep the engine lubricated.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Here’s a video of the oil pan removal:

Well, at least they didn’t try to fill the engine with Rem Oil.

Its a good thing they found something, because it looks like they really had to go to town to do it, taking off the starter motor as well as the ac compresor? Also...where was he going without oil? It looked like the drain plug was still in when they pulled the sump...i guess they could have drained it and put it back on

One of the commenters saw a news report that said that the police had been tipped to there being guns in the car. All they had to do was find them.

All I can think about is if this happened to me during one of the many times I go to Canada and back. If you’re going to hold me up for hours and take apart my engine you better put fresh oil in and throw on a new filter while you’re at it.

You gotta give them credit for effort. This goes way beyond just stuffing them in the air cleaner .

I liked the one where they smuggled drugs in an empty diff housing.

Those guns look pretty well oiled. Seems like they were submerged, so he had less oil as opposed to none.

I guess they get points for creativity, but certainly not for taste. I would think going to prison for smuggling cheap, Turkish knockoffs pistols would be pretty embarrassing. Telling folks you’re in for getting caught with an oil pan full of Sig P220s, or any other quality firearm, would at least indicate good taste.

I’m wondering how skittish and suspicious the driver/passenger was to make them look at fucking sump bolts.

That’s some FIA parc ferme fine tooth comb shit right there.

Dude screwed the wrong guy, this was a setup by another crook. Happens with drugs and guns, they give them a load just enough to tip the scales into serious charges and then call the cops with the location of the car and where to find the goods.

Guns need oil. It’s an oil pan. What’s the big deal.

When I was young, and dumb crossing the Canadian border they asked me, “Do you have any narcotics?” I being funny said, “Sure, what do you need?” They made me pull over in my late ‘70s Subaru wagon to the close inspection area. Door cards off, carpet up, they went nuts.

I think I stopped being funny that very day.

Ha yea, not a good idea to joke around those parts. I put on my super white, politely talking to old people voice and haven’t had any issues. Having your car torn through sounds nail biting.

Really any team being run by Ross Brawn would have - launch control on the Bennetons, the 1999 Ferrari bargeboard, Brawn double diffuser, Mercedes 2013 tire test... The guy’s good at getting the FIA to let him do whatever he wants. I’m almost surprised they didn’t find a way to keep him from being pushed out by Toto and Niki.

I wonder if a better plan might be to take a part-time 4x4 and then fill the front pumpkin with drugs/guns or whatever and just run disconnected axle stubs up front. Something with a huge external transfer case would be even easier than this to hide stuff in.
